The Mary E. Baker School is a vibrant center of learning that is filled with excited children, dedicated staff, involved parents, and equipped with the latest advancements in educational technology.
Students are afforded a quality education in a safe and supportive environment, which respects the diversity of all individuals, develops strong social skills and responsible citizens, involves parents and community, and instills a love of learning in an atmosphere that promotes academic excellence and recognizes student achievement.
The Baker School has technology rich classrooms with: Promethean Interactive White Boards, Elmo Document Cameras, Front Row Audio Sound Systems, Renaissance Student Response Systems. We are also a “Green School” which utilizes the latest in energy- conservation technologies: Photovoltaic technology, solar panels, natural and electric lighting, low water consumption toilets/urinals, daylight dimming of lights to make use of the natural light from the skylights, classroom motion detectors, underground water detention system that collects and stores rain water for the irrigation and sprinkler systems in a large basin. When the water in the basin reaches a low level, an electric pump, powered by our solar collectors, releases water from the well into basin.
The Green Team at the Mary E. Baker School promotes many school wide environmental awareness activities in a comfortable and productive learning environment while saving energy and natural resources.
The Mary E. Baker School is a true living legacy to a community activist whose deep devotion to her family, friends, and the City of Brockton made her an inspiration to all who knew her. Mary E. Baker’s vision of, “I can and I will make a difference,” is alive and well at the Baker School.
