Educational Opportunities

The Edison Academy helps non-traditional students earn the high school diploma they need to succeed in life. Our evening courses are free to students ages 15-21 who are residents of Brockton. Students take part in core academics taught by certified Brockton Public Schools teachers, and learn alongside adult students who are part of the Community Schools Adult Evening Diploma Program.

Students who are seeking their diploma must meet all graduation requirements, including demonstrating competencies on the MCAS assessment.

Off-Site Education Opportunities

Gateway to College program at Massasoit Community College

Gateway to College at Massasoit Community College gives youth ages 16-20 an opportunity to complete their high school diploma requirements while simultaneously earning credits toward a college degree or certificate. Massasoit Community College is one of 30 colleges across the country currently offering the Gateway to College program.

Job Placement Internships/Work Study Opportunities

Recognizing the value of work experience, Edison Academy supports and encourages students to earn credits through on-the-job learning. Students may design a work study/internship under the direction of the Principal, or seek a Edison Academy-designed work study opportunity with one of our community partners.

Project-Based Learning

Edison Academy students are eligible to earn credits towards their diploma by participating in approved project-based learning experiences. Working with teachers and administrators, students can design valuable learning projects that demonstrate competency in core academic subjects. This provides valuable experience and real-world applications for a greater depth of understanding of concepts.
