The Transportation Department provides transportation to and from school to more than 9,000 students daily.  The Brockton Public Schools transportation system is a three-tiered model, with high school and junior high school as Tier I, elementary as Tier II and kindergarten and pre-school Tier III.

School bus assignments are based upon distance between home and school; elementary students who live more than 1½ miles from school are entitled to transportation under the Brockton plan; and middle school and high school students who live more than 2 miles from school receive transportation.
