BROCKTON ....... A CITY OF CARING CHAMPIONS
The Brockton Public Schools actively practices Community Service Learning in its classes during the school day, as well as in after-school programs and beyond. The projects carried out by teachers, advisors and after-school staff augments school curricula along with state standards and frameworks. Students in Grades K - 12 have an active voice in planning projects which cater to their community needs, take part in authentic learning, and conclude with reflection and celebration.
Each school has showcased projects on this website. Many of our teachers successfully use service learning to increase student motivation and promote academic goals. It helps students develop a sense of civic responsibility and prepares them for life beyond the classroom in a way no text could teach.

enrich learning, teaches civic responsibility, and
strengthens communities."
