Introduction: The Health Education Department provides a planned, sequential curriculum that teaches fundamental health concepts and promotes habits that enhance health and wellness.Health Education instruction ensures that students develop knowledge, attitudes, skills and behaviors necessary for life long learning.This approach builds resiliency, which in turn leads to healthy families and communities.
Information:
The Brockton Public School Health Education program adopts the standards of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Education Curriculum Frameworks.The fourteen content areas include:growth and development, physical activity and fitness, nutrition, reproduction/sexuality, mental health, family health, interpersonal relationships, disease prevention and control, safety and injury prevention, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, consumer health, ecological health and community and public health.
